Story Telling Through Painting
I’m a miniature painter with a passion for storytelling—both through the models I build and the paint I put on them. My work often leans into fantasy and science fiction, with a particular love for Thousand Sons, though I’ve had just as much fun painting chitinous Tyranids or building strange custom characters from scratch. While I do my fair share of batch painting, I always find myself drawn to the moments where I can slow down, focus on a single model, and tell the story contained within it. There’s something incredibly satisfying about capturing a character’s history in a worn shoulder plate, a weathered robe, or a blood-streaked blade.
Plastic to Reality
The weathering phase is often my favorite part of any project. Scratching up a paint job, staining it, grinding it down—these are the moments where a miniature really comes to life. I want every piece I paint to feel like it’s been somewhere, seen something, and has a story to tell.
I paint primarily with acrylics, but regularly work oils into my process. I find that blending both mediums gives me the best of both worlds: the speed and precision of acrylics with the richness, texture, and subtlety of oils. It allows for greater control over tone and mood, and lets each project take on its own identity.
one of a kind
One of the aspects of the hobby I’m most passionate about is kitbashing. Creating unique characters from a mix of bits and parts, and then telling their story through composition and paint, is something I never get tired of. There’s a freedom to it that’s unlike anything else—a chance to build something that exists nowhere else in the lore but your own imagination.
I first stumbled into the miniature hobby more or less by accident, but it quickly became my favorite way to spend time. What started as a curiosity turned into a creative outlet, then a passion, and eventually a calling. Over time, I began sharing my work online under the name MyMiniatureRomance, and that eventually grew into a commission service—first painting for friends and local players, then expanding into client work across a range of projects and game systems.
When Stories come to life
What I love most about this hobby is how complete it feels. It combines world-building, storytelling, craftsmanship, and art—all in one. Whether it’s lore, kitbashing, or painting, I love being immersed in every part of it.
Outside of the hobby, you’ll usually find me writing and performing metal music with one of my bands, reading dark and strange fiction, or heading out on small adventures with my dog.
